DENSO has announced the introduction of new Double Coil glow plug part numbers which the company says makes its glow plug range one of the most comprehensive in the aftermarket.
The DENSO OE glow plug programme now ranks as one of the highest in the aftermarket in terms of vehicle parc coverage with the introduction of seven new Double Coil references, announced at Automechanika. These cover 35 OE part numbers and 215 key vehicle applications from a number of leading car makers, including Alfa Romeo, Citroën, Ford, Kia, Mini, Opel and Peugeot.
In total the DENSO glow plugs programme now includes 131 part numbers covering 1,055 OE references and 4,481 applications. As well as Double Coil, other types of DENSO glow plugs available include Single Coil, Extended Post-Heating, Ceramic and Instant Heating. A further 11 new glow plugs are also set to be added to the programme by December.
Martin Pring, Manager, DENSO Aftermarket Sales commented, “These expansions underline our continued commitment to developing one of the largest ranges of glow plugs available that offers both choice and superior quality. Consistently high levels of new diesel registrations, especially in Ireland, mean this is a growth sector.”
DENSO draws on its vast experience in OEM Diesel systems to offer a glow plug range that provides fast heat-up times, outstanding reliability, and extended post-heat temperatures that help to significantly reduce vehicle exhaust emissions.
All of the new references are of Double Coil type, featuring a heating coil and regulating coil, which is specifically designed for direct injection diesel engines. DENSO’s Double Coil glow plugs also offer extended post heating time of up to one minute.
Key new applications covered by the new Double Coil part numbers include: Ford Focus (04-present); Ford Mondeo (00-07); Opel Astra (04-present); Opel Insignia (08-present); and Peugeot 207 (06-present).
