The last Land Rover defender rolled off the production line last year but fans of the off road classic can now buy factory restored 1948 originals.
Land Rover's Classics division is restoring 25 Series 1 Defenders to better than new condition. But to own one of the classics does come at a price, £60,000 to £80,000 depending on whether it’s an 80-inch or 86-inch chassis model.
Each of the restoration projects was chosen based on its authenticity and will receive a complete rebuild to the original 1948 specification. Buyers will have a choice of five original finishes, Light Green, Bronze Green, RAF Blue, Dove Grey and Poppy Red.
The global popularity of the Defender means there certainly won’t be a shortage of buyers and those that do get their hands on one of the 25 can expect the value of their vehicle to rise quickly.
