Dash cam captures mechanic’s joyride

Dash Cams are very useful for getting a record of on road incidents, but also proved they have other uses when a chauffeur left his car into a UK Mercedes dealer for a warranty repair.

David Argust had left his new E300 AMG at the Sytner Mercedes Bristol garage for a wheel sensor replacement. But when the car was returned a look at the Dash Cam footage found that the £40,000 Mercedes had been used for a joyride by one of the mechanics. He had taken it on a spin to local supermarket and apparently broke the speed limit nine times during the 10-minute 'test drive'. The car was taken without the owner’s permission and the repair did not require any road testing.

The dealership apologised and it is believed the mechanic has been sacked. However, the company seems to have taken exception to the video, complete with a very critical text commentary, being posted on social media and has now refused to do any further servicing work on Mr. Argust car.
