One of Ireland’s longest established and best known motor dealers, Linders, has opened its second Renault and Dacia dealership on the northside of Dublin.

Having just opened its new Finglas dealership a few months ago creating 15 jobs, Linders has ended its contract with Toyota and has taken on Renault and Dacia in the Chapelizod location.

Linders two new dealerships will now employ over 40 staff between them. Linders will still act as a Toyota Approved Repairer in Chapelizod and will also be creating additional jobs on top of current staff numbers in the dealership.

Paddy Magee, Renault Country Operations Manager Ireland: “We are delighted that the Linders family has decided to open their second Renault and Dacia dealership in just four months in North Dublin. The Finglas Dealership has had a fantastic start with both Renault and Dacia and we are looking forward to this success continuing in Chapelizod".

The Linders name has been synonymous with the motor industry for over 75 years, with Sonny Linders starting a repair garage in Smithfield in 1938. In 1973, Linders became the first appointed Toyota dealer in Ireland and in 2002 the operation expanded and moved to Chapelizod. Paul Linders is also President of the Society of Irish Motor Industry and stresses that the Linders business is very much a family effort with his father Joe and Uncle Patrick very involved in the two dealerships.

Linders Chapelizod will retail Renault passenger and commercial vehicles and facilitate Renault After Sales and Servicing. Linders Chapelizod will also retail the Dacia range which is the fastest growing brand in Ireland and will be expanding further this month.

Paul Linders: “This is a big day for the Linders name in the motor industry. In 2008 I had to let 16 people go from the Chapelizod dealership. Today, we have replaced those 16 and added more positions, bringing the number of people we employ to 40, which we are very proud of. With over 75 years hard work and experience we will now continue to offer the very best in customer service and quality in the motor industry and very importantly new jobs will be created as a result of this second dealership”.
