Another traditional motoring marque will bow out in the coming months, as Ford is set to discontinue its Mercury brand.

Although it never made an impact in Europe, Mercury, which was created in the 1930's by Edsel Ford, was a big seller in the US for many decades. Ford says Mercury production will end in the forth quarter this year. However, the facilities and workforce will be transferred to Ford’s Lincoln brand.
