BMW Group Ireland’s new Managing Director paid a visit this week to Galway to view the construction progress of BMW’s newest outlet, Colm Quinn BMW Galway.
Mr Alves took over as Managing Director at the beginning of the month and is currently getting to know the dealer network.
Speaking exclusively to Autobiz, Paulo Alves said: “I am excited by the potential I see ahead in Ireland and here in Galway in particular. I’m getting to know the dealer network and will be meeting those dealers over the coming weeks.”
Paulo Alves who succeeds John Ives as Managing is a Chartered Engineer and joined the BMW Group in 1997. He spent the first 10 years in engineering delivering projects including Range Rover, MINI Hatch and MINI Convertible. Paulo joined BMW UK in May 2007 and has had a number of different roles including Market Intelligence Planning and Strategy Manager before taking up his current role in BMW Marketing as General Manager, Marketing Communications, in August 2010.We hope to grow BMW, MINI and Motorrad’s success with an expanding range of Exciting models and by introducing further improvements in customer service levels and aftersales programmes.”
Construction at Colm Quinn BMW Galway is well advanced and will be completed later this year. Already Colm Quinn BMW is making significant inroads into the Galway premium car marketplace and is currently operating from temporary premises on the Tuam Road site.
Colm Quinn said: “I am delighted that Paulo has taken the time to come to Galway to see the progress we are making on the site and to introduce him to the team here. He has already visited our expanding outlet in Athlone and it is a wonderful endorsement for me and the team, and for what we are doing in both locations that he has come to Galway and Athlone this week.”
