Volkswagen Ireland has announced that Niall Walsh has been appointed to the position of Head of Aftersales for Volkswagen Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles.

Niall has been Area Sales Manager for Volkswagen Passenger Cars for the past 3 years. Prior to joining Volkswagen Group Ireland, he spent 2 years with Mazda as Regional Manager (Sales & Aftersales) and before that he spent 9 years with Park Motors. In his early career he also worked with Annesley Motors and Fairview Motors, having served his time as a mechanic with Annesley Cloghran.

He takes over from Alan Bateson who is now Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. "I am delighted to be taking on this new role. My ambition is to continue the strategic growth of Aftersales which has been achieved by Alan and his team over the last 3 years and deliver better service and better value to every Volkswagen driver in Ireland. This is what has seen Ireland win the Volkswagen Aftersales World Cup in 2012 and Best Practice Aftersales Importer of the Year 2012.

"There are over 250,000 Volkswagen drivers in Ireland and with new programmes like our Economy Parts range and Fixed Price Service offers we are delivering the best possible option for these drivers when it comes to servicing or repairs. Our focus is on service quality at affordable prices and that's why our mission statement is 'Better Service, Better Value', this is also backed by our 10-point Service Promise" added Niall.
