Dublin based family-run firm, Reynolds Logistics was presented with the European Transport Company of the Year 2012 award by Mr. Alan Kelly. Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Tourism & Sport at the Fleet Transport Expo 12 in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin on 5 November. 


This is the first time these awards have been presented in Ireland. Previous winners include Dutch company Van Maanen, who were victorious on the first edition of the contest in 2009, and British company Tradeteam, in 2010. Runners-up in the 2012 edition were Maszo?ski Logistic (Poland) and Snel Logistic Solutions from Belgium.

The European Transport Company of the Year award recognises the achievements of the finest road transport operations throughout Europe.  The aim of the contest is to give an award to an operator whose management skills, customer dedication and all-round professionalism can be considered as an example to follow for the whole European freight transport industry.

Reynolds Logistics were the only Irish company to be shortlisted as a finalist. Established over 80 years ago, Reynolds Logistics is a family business with a proven history in the logistics of liquid products from hydrocarbon fuels, lubricants and their derivatives, chemicals and bitumen.

Now with the family in their third generation Andrew Reynolds the CEO is shaping the company to continue its growth into new markets with safety, innovation and customer satisfaction as the key drivers.  The company has two main operating bases in Dublin, and Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom, with several strategically placed out-bases to ensure a seamless network of transport operations throughout Ireland the United Kingdom and Continental Europe.  Reynolds Logistics employ 260 people and have an annual turnover of €35 million.  Reynolds Logistics, Dublin, former winner of the Fleet Transport ‘Irish Haulier of the Year’ and Silver award recipient in the European Transport Company of the Year in 2009.

The announcement of Reynolds Logistics win of the European Award happened the same week as the leading petroleum distribution specialists secured a €50 million plus contract with Topaz Energy, ahead of some other blue chip international companies in the same field. “It’s the biggest logistics contract won by an Irish company in many years and proves that we can compete with some of the top names in the business and additional trucks, tankers and staff will be taken-on as a result.” stated Andrew Reynolds, CEO, Reynolds Logistics.  He added, “To win the European Transport Company of the Year 2012 is a great accolade and the award is a testament to all of our staff.  Each and every one of them contributed to this award.”

Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport Leo Varadkar has congratulated Reynolds Logistics on their major achievement. “I want to congratulate to Reynolds Logistics on winning this award. It’s the first time an Irish company has won this award, and indicates that Reynolds Logistics is one of the leading operators in its class in Europe.

“This award is reserved for companies which demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, customer service, and management skills. Well done to Reynolds Logistics and all its staff,” he added
