It is now just over two years since Roberts Automotive took over the distribution of Blackhawk bodyshop equipment in Ireland and the UK.
During this time, Roberts has helped to re-establish the brand as an equipment supplier of choice with many accident repair centres. The Blackhawk-Roberts partnership now very much appears to be on an upward trajectory, as illustrated by the presentation of many new product innovations at a recent Blackhawk European open day, as well as a growing order book.
Dave Roberts, MD at Roberts Automotive comments, "We have worked extremely hard over the past two years to reconnect with long term Blackhawk customers, as well as introducing the range to new users. This hard work has certainly paid dividends, as we feel we have very much re-established excellent working relationship with a loyal Blackhawk customer base.” He adds, "It has been especially pleasing to see our success in Ireland, where Blackhawk has always had a very strong and enthusiastic customer base in the accident repair trade.”
As well as the supply of new equipment, Dave and his team have been especially successful in providing much needed equipment maintenance and calibration services to busy bodyshops, something that is vital for repair accuracy and to avoid expensive equipment down time. The team have also been able to advise many customers on economical equipment upgrades and refurbishment.
Looking to the future, the Blackhawk HQ in Strasbourg recently saw the launch of several new products and a fully refurbished training facility. The products launched included two new pulling benches the Power Pro XL & XXL, a brand new Shark Ultrasonic Measuring Program and a heavy duty wheel and chassis alignment system. Dave believes these advances offer the possibility to take bodyshops to the next level in advanced technology repairs and is looking forward to demonstrating their capabilities to Irish repairers.
