Butt's of Bawtry had a wide range of garage tools and equipment on display at Automechanika Birmingham and taking pride of place was the Semad range of Coil Spring Compressors.

This equipment is proving very popular with garages in Ireland because of its speed of operation and high quality build, as well as its unique safety features. It means these compressors can save vital time on a job as well as making the safety of operators a top priority.

Each features a robust triple bar safety protection cage and is designed to fully enclose the coil spring with a back panel meaning 360° protection.  For added safety the Air Operated models will not compress the spring until the cage is not only lowered but also locked in place. There is also a steel safety rope for added protection. 

Semad Coil Spring Compressors have one of the longest strokes on the market at 440mm. This enables the operator to change even the longest struts on today's vehicles. Each also utilises a patented method of clamping springs using unique safety claws. This means that with Semad the garage only ever needs the 4 claws supplied, with the option to purchase a universal top plate which will compress almost every spring available. The claws all work independently of each other which make units suitable for all types of spring (banana/tapered/LH wound springs etc). It also means that unlike other systems there is no need to purchase different claws for different applications.
