Slipped suspension bush - Nissan Juke The bush was not particularly worn but had slipped out of place in the lower arm

Coming up for the NCT, this owner was confident that his 2013 Nissan Juke was going to sail through the test, to be fair most owners are pretty optimistic about their vehicles when it comes to the NCT and many owners are shocked when the failure occurs.

Although it had covered 95,000 miles this Juke was in pretty good condition, and had been regularly serviced. It did only fail on one point, the lower arm bush which has slipped out of place.

I discovered that this was a lower arm that had been replaced at an earlier stage in the Juke’s life after an incident on the ice one winterers night. The Juke had slide sideways into the kerb and the original arm had been bent. I suspect the replacement unit may have been a cheaper pattern part.

The arm was replaced with a reputable unit, and afterwards the tracking was checked to ensure that we weren’t going to see the Juke back with signs of tyre wear, unless of course another hard winter causes problems.
