Filter specialist Sogefi has launched an innovative new packaging concept for its Purflux, FRAM® and CoopersFiaam cabin air filters range at the Equip Auto Trade Exhibition in Paris. Sogefi says that its cabin air filter business has grown by 50% in the past 3 years and believes the new packaging will add further to demand.
The new packaging system has been designed to reduce environmental impact and facilitate efficient logistics and provide improved product information. The innovative packaging is made entirely of transparent, 100-percent recyclable polypropylene 50 micron plastic. This is hermetically sealed to offer full protection from dust and humidity, two major risks to cabin air filters.
The strong flexible material makes the pack stronger, smaller and lighter than a box. "This represents genuine added value for our customers," says Andrea Taschini, General Manager of the Sogefi Aftermarket Business Unit. "Less weight and bulk optimises transportation costs and leaves our customers up to 15 percent more space for storage. The transparent wrapping also means quicker handling and fewer returns, because the content is immediately visible to the mechanic."
Each package also has a QR code to give the user immediate access to online fitting instructions, these are also included in printed format. In addition, key specifications such as serial number and barcode are clearly displayed on the face and end of the pack.
The first phase of the new cabin air filter packing project will cover all three Sogefi brands, Purflux, FRAM® and CoopersFiaam and will be implemented over the coming months. The concept will then be rolled out to other Sogefi filtration products.
