Stuart Alexander, a very well known figure in the bodyshop world both in Ireland and the UK, has recently celebrated 25 years at equipment specialist Car-O-Liner. After starting out as a technical representative in 1992 he has risen through the ranks of the company and is now the Car-O-Liner General Manager for the UK and Ireland, but still remains very hands on with customers.
Stuart’s energy, enthusiasm and dedication has been a major contributory factor to the company’s growth over two and a half decades and was recognised last year with a high profile industry award. He is also now back at work after recovering from recent health issues and said he thanks everyone who sent him messages of support during his recuperation.
Stuart says that Ireland has always been a place where he has received a very warm welcome and his links to the Emerald Isle date back to his very first days with the company. He comments, "I actually visited a bodyshop in Ireland on my second ever day with Car-O-Liner and I am pleased to say that the owner bought a jig and remains a Car-O-Liner customer to this day.” He adds, "Over the years I have visited just about every town in Ireland and generally make the trip once a month. I have a great group of customers who are a pleasure to deal with and many have become firm friends and have welcomed me into their homes. It makes my visits something I always look forward to and I hope to back to sometime in August.”
Stuart believes that Irish bodyshops are well equipped to rise to the challenges of the fast changing market and is very positive about their business prospects. He comments, "The success of our PointX mobile measuring system and our next generation CTR 7 Resistance Spot Welder in Ireland shows how progressive repairers are. Irish bodyshop operators seem very prepared to embrace how this technology can benefit their business and move them to a new level.”
