Derek Tohill has won the seventh round of the 2013 FIA European

Rallycross Championship, RallycrossRX at Lohéac in France. His third victory of the season puts him in a great position in the championship with two events to go.

With the European series resuming after a summer break, Derek was in top form driving his Ford Fiesta Mk7 RWD.  In the first heat Derek had an incident with Robin Larsson that resulted in both cars spinning. After this the PartsforCars.ie team provided Robin with some key components to save him from retiring from the event.

Setting fastest times in the remaining qualifying runs on Saturday and Sunday placed Derek on top of the intermediate classification. He then went on to win his semi-final from Robin Larsson after having lead it from start to finish. It was the same story in the final where he made a brilliant start from pole and eventually came in first ahead of another Swede, Daniel Lundh.

Maximum championship points scored in Lohéac means Derek extends his championship lead to 27 points ahead of the penultimate round of the 2013 RallycrossRX series taking place at Greinbach in Austria in two weeks time (September 14-15).
