Toyota Ireland rolls out new Write-Off Avoidance Programme

Toyota Ireland is to help bodyshops secure more business and keep repairable models on the road with its new Write off Avoidance Programme.

The innovative programme has been developed by Toyota Ireland and targets category C or D   write- offs. Were a vehicle is at risk of being classified an uneconomical repair, the Toyota Dealer will work with the bodyshop and the insurance company to explore if it is possible to have it repaired and keep it on the road, through a further reduction in parts prices. In this way the customer gets to keep their vehicle, which will have been repaired with Genuine Toyota Parts, the insurance company does not have to pay for the write-off and the bodyshop benefits from the extra business. The programme can also significantly reduce waste and so also offers environmental benefits.

Authorised Toyota repairers and independent bodyshops repairing Toyota vehicles simply prepare a comprehensive estimate using Genuine Toyota parts. If the insurance company’s pre accident value leaves the vehicle at risk of being classed an uneconomical repair, the Toyota Dealership will explore options in terms of additional discounts, to make the repair viable. Under the Toyota programme the approval process is also instant with no delays.

Glenn O’Reilly, Toyota Aftersales Commercial Manager, says, "We have been piloting this scheme with several bodyshops and the feedback is extremely positive. The repairers say that this is a very easy scheme to manage and administer, with quick response times and excellent communications. It has already helped to keep many Toyotas on the road that might otherwise have been written-off and we now want bodyshops and Toyota driver’s right across Ireland to benefit from the programme. We firmly believe that the increased support will encourage insurance companies to decide in favour of a repair, rather than write-off of the Toyota in question.”
