To help achieve accurate colour and effect matching of special OEM colours Standox has introduced two new special effect mixing tints, Caribbean Blue Pearl Mix 290 and Indigo Fine Pearl Mix 289. The new paints are available immediately in small 250ml tins and can be used with the Standohyd Plus basecoat system.

The special feature of Caribbean Blue Pearl Mix 290 is its metallic-looking flakes that have an effect coating with a green-blue surface and a transparent flop. Depending on the light, the green-blue colour can appear quite intense or less so, and the highly-chromatic pigments give it deep colour saturation as well as great vibrancy. This mixing tint enables the repair of OEM colours including Kona Blue by Ford, which can be found on the Ford Mustang 50 Year Limited Edition anniversary model.

The second new mixing tint, Indigo Fine Pearl Mix 289, is a blue pearl with extremely high colour saturation and very fine flakes. It is these flakes that make it well-suited to repair OEM colours, such as Shadow Black by Ford, which require a very fine flake size.

Standox says that by developing special mixing tints it offers professional bodyshops all the elements required to achieve excellent results even when refinishing unusual OEM paints. As both mixing tints are unlikely to be in daily use, Standox has made them available in economical 250ml tins.
