VRA issues bodyshop recommended retail price list

The Vehicle Repairers Association (VRA) has published their 2012 recommended retail price list for Body Repairers. This is the first time a retail price list has been established and will be circulated to all bodyshops during December.

The VRA says that body repairers across Ireland are dealing with increased costs, including energy prices, material costs, training and compliance.  However, at the same time many work providers, such as certain Insurance companies, are imposing rate reductions on repairs, leading to a position, which is not sustainable.
VRA founder John Moran says, “The only way that a bodyshop can continue to comply with required standards and keep up with latest training, is to ensure they get paid the appropriate amount per repair, to allow for the required investment in their business.” He added, “We hope all bodyshops find the price list useful and it demonstrates how the VRA is providing assistance in these challenging times.”
The VRA argues it is high time that repairers were paid fair rates for the highly complex and skilled work that they do and to stop the constant erosion of their revenue. The association is encouraging all body repairers to display the recommended rates on their premises, in order to highlight the true value of the services repairers provide. The VRA will review the recommended rates periodically and issue updates as appropriate.
The VRA is an independent industry organisation, formed to represent the interests of automotive body repairers in Ireland and is dedicated to raising standards of repair quality and professionalism in the industry. The association is actively looking for more bodyshops to become members and help to protect the future of the body repair industry in Ireland.
