Ring introduces new 12 volt Dash Cameras

Ring has made a very significant addition to its Vehicle Safety Systems range with the introduction of in-car cameras, or das-cams, that are suitable for 12v vehicles and especially well suited to fleets that operate cars, or vans.

In-car cameras have gained recognition as a tool to record road accidents and unexpected events to help provide irrefutable evidence in an insurance claim.  They also ensure peace of mind in circumstances where a driver believes an accident was not their fault.

As well as being a popular consumer product, Fleet Managers and those who operate vehicles as part of their work are now seeing the benefits of dash-cams. Some insurance companies are also rewarding their customers who install dash cameras with discounts off their premiums. For Fleet Managers this could offer very significant savings.

The Ring RBGDC10 Dash Camera system has a high-resolution, 3 mega pixel image sensor and a fully adjustable 1.5” LCD screen including night vision LEDS. The G sensor data protection automatically senses a crash and locks the video against overwriting, so crucial footage is saved.  The camera also includes a built-in microphone to detect any sounds in the vehicle.  The videos are saved using loop recording, with new footage overwriting old, which means that users won’t run out of space.  The camera also features auto on/off and date/time stamp, all of which are crucial for presenting evidence.

Also new to the rage is the RBGDC50 Dash Camera system which includes all of the RBGDC10 features, but what sets it apart is its 2.7” wide screen display.  Also included is a number plate stamp, which once keyed it into the camera system, always identifies the number plate on every piece of video footage.

Top of the range is the RBGDC200 compact camera which captures video footage whilst driving in FULL HD 1080P resolution. The camera has a 2.0” LCD screen for better field of vision, providing a wider view in front of the vehicle. GPS software provides the exact location, records speed and tracks an entire journey for viewing later on Google maps.  This software is useful if for example, another road user is disputing blame and footage alone isn’t enough to confirm important details.

These new dash-cams will be available from Ring stockists nationwide.
